Spring time foods you don't want to miss

Sending some sunshine to you today Reader,

Springtime is such a delicious time of year! As we loose the desire for all those heavy comfort foods we get to welcome the fresh, sweet tastes of spring! Mix it up with fruit in your garden salad and greens in your smoothies.

Spring produce to look for in your grocery store

Veggies: asparagus, cabbage, carrots, celery, collard greens, lettuce, mushrooms, onions, pea pods, radishes, spinach, turnips, broccoli, collard greens, garlic and fresh herbs, kale,

Fruits: apples, apricots, avocados, bananas, kiwi, lemons limes, pineapple, strawberries

Time to entertain!

Gatherings will be outside again soon! Bring a dish with cut fruits and veggies for picking. You'll have something you know you can fill up on and sharing fresh tastes of spring is sure to please the crowd.

A complete dish idea: Lettuce wraps!
A favorite of ours is spicy grilled shrimp and slaw, wrapped in collard greens. Whip up a quick avocado mash for the center of the dish.

Mom tip~ When it's your turn to bring snack to the game, grab a couple bags of apples, bunches of bananas, or bags of carrots (Kids actually love the big ones)
You can pair it with:
* cups of nut butter, hummus, guac, or dressing
* popcorn
